What this course covers
Microsoft Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals (exam SC-900) is the entry-level Microsoft certification for people who want to understand how Microsoft's cloud security offerings work. It does not require hands-on administration experience, so it suits business stakeholders, students and IT professionals starting in security.
This course explains the security, compliance and identity concepts that Microsoft's products are built around, then maps them to the product capabilities: Microsoft Entra for identity and access, Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Sentinel for threat protection and security operations, and Microsoft Purview and Compliance Manager for information protection, governance and compliance. Core ideas such as Zero Trust, the shared responsibility model, encryption, authentication versus authorisation and the role of identity as the new perimeter are explained with simple examples.
Microsoft states that the English version of the SC-900 exam is being updated on 21 October 2026. We teach to the study guide that applies on your exam date and point out new areas so that your preparation matches the live exam.
