What this course covers
The Advanced Certified Scrum Product Owner (A-CSPO) is aimed at Product Owners who have already shipped product increments and now face harder choices: aligning many stakeholders, validating assumptions before building, measuring value and keeping a backlog meaningful over years instead of weeks.
The course goes beyond writing stories. You work on product strategy and vision, discovery techniques such as experiments and hypothesis-driven development, advanced prioritisation, and the leadership needed to guide a team and its stakeholders towards outcomes. Participants bring real products to work on.
A-CSPO has no exam. Scrum Alliance asks for a CSPO (active or expired), at least 12 months of Product Owner work experience in the last five years and completion of an approved course of at least 16 hours.

Q.Is there an exam for A-CSPO?
No. It is based on the course, your CSPO and verified Product Owner experience.
Q.Can I take the course before I have 12 months of experience?
Yes. You can attend first, but the credential is only issued after the experience is recorded and validated.
Q.Does a CSM count instead of a CSPO?
No. For A-CSPO, Scrum Alliance requires a CSPO specifically.
Q.What if my CSPO expired?
An expired CSPO is acceptable as the prerequisite, and it renews automatically when you earn the A-CSPO.
Q.Who is this for if I am a Product Manager, not a Scrum PO?
Product managers working with Scrum teams benefit a lot, but you must still be able to show Product Owner accountability for the experience requirement.
Q.What does renewal cost?
A-CSPO renews every two years; third-party guides list 30 SEUs and about US$175, but check the Scrum Alliance site for the current figure.
