About the course
What this course covers
The SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) course teaches you to be a servant leader and coach for a team that is part of an Agile Release Train. A Scrum Master in SAFe does everything a Scrum Master does for a single team, plus supports the team's participation in PI Planning, system demos and Inspect and Adapt.
The course follows the SSM exam outline: introducing Scrum in SAFe, defining the Scrum Master or team coach role, supporting team events (iteration planning, team sync, backlog refinement, iteration review and retrospective) and supporting ART events (PI Planning, the Innovation and Planning iteration and Inspect and Adapt). You practise facilitation and coaching through exercises, not lecture.
The SSM exam is a web-based, closed-book test with 45 single-select questions in 90 minutes. The standard SSM exam lists a 73% pass mark; the AI-empowered edition lists 80%, so confirm the edition for your batch. Scaled Agile also publishes AI-empowered editions of several courses, so your trainer will confirm the exact edition and exam version at enrolment.
