About the course
What this course covers
The Release Train Engineer (RTE) is the servant leader and chief facilitator of an Agile Release Train. The RTE keeps a team of teams aligned, runs PI Planning, manages risks and dependencies, drives flow and runs the Inspect and Adapt event. This course prepares you for that role.
The three days follow the RTE exam outline: exploring the RTE role and SAFe foundations, applying SAFe principles to preparation, facilitation and planning (including multi-location facilitation), executing the PI through ART events, measuring and optimising flow, the Innovation and Planning iteration and Inspect and Adapt, and serving the ART through key ART roles, Release on Demand, value stream mapping, coaching and building a one-team culture. Practice facilitation is a large part of the course.
The RTE exam has 60 single-select questions in 120 minutes with a 78% pass mark. The first attempt is included in the course fee when taken within 60 days of course completion. Scaled Agile also publishes AI-empowered editions of several courses, so your trainer will confirm the exact edition and exam version at enrolment.
