SAFe for Architects (ARCH) addresses a recurring tension in large programmes: architects want long-term design integrity, while agile teams need to deliver value every few weeks. The course shows how architects contribute to PI Planning, build enabler epics, manage non-functional requirements and keep an architectural runway that supports continuous delivery.
The exam outline has five domains: agile architecture and SAFe; DevOps and release on demand; architecture with business value (strategic themes, value streams, enabler epics, solution intent, NFRs and the Lean quality management system); PI execution (preparing for and contributing to PI Planning, management review, Inspect and Adapt); and leading during a Lean-Agile transformation. The class uses case studies about architecture decisions across ARTs and solution trains.
The ARCH exam has 45 single-select questions in 90 minutes with a 71% pass mark. Scaled Agile also publishes AI-empowered editions of several courses, so your trainer will confirm the exact edition and exam version at enrolment.
