About the course
What this course covers
Python for Data Science is the starting point for anyone who wants to work with data using code. It is intentionally narrower than a full data science programme: the goal is to make you fluent in the libraries you will use every day, so that later courses in machine learning, deep learning or generative AI feel manageable.
You begin with core Python, then move to NumPy for numerical arrays, pandas for tables, and Matplotlib and Seaborn for charts. Sessions are hands-on: you load a dataset, ask a question, clean it, summarise it and chart it. Towards the end you get a gentle introduction to descriptive statistics and fit your first simple model with scikit-learn so you understand where these skills lead.
There is no external exam. You complete a mini-project and receive an Assure Success course-completion certificate.

Q.I have never written code. Can I join?
Yes. The course assumes no programming background and starts with the very basics of Python.
Q.How is this different from Data Science with Python?
This is a foundation course (32 hours) that covers Python and the core data libraries. Data Science with Python goes further into statistics, a full machine learning workflow and a larger capstone.
Q.Is a certificate from an exam body included?
No exam body is involved. You receive an Assure Success course-completion certificate after finishing the course and mini-project.
Q.Which Python version and tools are used?
A current Python 3 release with Jupyter notebooks, either through Anaconda on your laptop or Google Colab in the browser.
Q.Will this help me get a data analyst job?
It gives you the Python skills many analyst roles ask for. Most analyst jobs also expect SQL and a BI tool, so consider pairing it with SQL for Data Analytics and a Power BI or Tableau course.
Q.How much practice time is needed outside class?
Plan roughly 3 to 5 hours a week for assignments. Coding fluency comes from practice, not from watching.
