About the course
Professional Agile Leadership - Essentials (PAL-E) is for people who lead, manage or sponsor teams using agile ways of working. Many agile adoptions fail not because of the team but because leaders keep old habits: assigning tasks, rewarding output and demanding detailed upfront plans.
The class introduces the agile leader's role in supporting teams to be empirical and self-managing. You examine your organisation's culture and structure, how to set clear goals and boundaries without micromanaging, and how to create an environment where Scrum Teams can deliver value. A short introduction to Evidence-Based Management shows how to make decisions with real data.
The PAL I assessment follows the class. Scrum.org class listings describe it as 36 multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes with an 85% pass mark; confirm the current format on scrum.org. A pass gives a lifetime certification.
