About the course
What this course covers
The PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) certification recognises people who identify and assess project risks and plan responses to them. It suits risk specialists as well as project managers who spend significant time on uncertainty, whether in IT, construction, energy, finance or consulting.
PMI's PMI-RMP page lists five domains: Risk Strategy and Planning (22%), Risk Identification (23%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (13%) and Monitor and Close Risks (19%). The exam has 115 questions and runs 150 minutes. Our course follows these domains in order, from setting the risk approach to monitoring and closing risks, and works through both qualitative and quantitative techniques with examples.
PMI requires risk management education hours as part of eligibility: 30 hours for the bachelor's-degree path and 40 hours for the secondary-school path. This 30-hour course meets the first requirement exactly; secondary-school-path applicants would need 10 more hours elsewhere. Please confirm current requirements on pmi.org when you apply.
