Graph databases store relationships as first-class data, which makes them well suited to questions like who is connected to whom, what is the shortest path, and which items are often bought together. Neo4j is the most widely used graph database, with applications in fraud detection, recommendation engines, network and IT operations, knowledge graphs and supply chains.

This course starts with the property graph model and shows how to turn a relational or document model into a graph. You will learn Cypher, Neo4j's pattern-matching query language: creating nodes and relationships, matching patterns, filtering, aggregation, variable-length paths and subqueries. Data import, constraints and indexes follow, together with profiling queries to find performance issues. A final set of sessions introduces Graph Data Science algorithms, vector indexes for GenAI and knowledge graph use cases, and application development with a driver.

Neo4j runs its own free Neo4j Certified Professional exam, and the course topics line up with it. The exam is an optional external credential taken directly with Neo4j.
