About the course
What this course covers
MongoDB is the most widely used document database, popular for applications with flexible or evolving data structures. Developers choose it for fast iteration, JSON-like documents, built-in horizontal scaling and a rich query and aggregation language. Many Indian product companies and startups run it, usually on MongoDB Atlas.
This course focuses on the developer experience. You will learn the document model, CRUD operations and query operators, then move to indexing, explain plans and the aggregation pipeline for reporting-style queries. Schema design gets significant time, because most MongoDB performance problems start there: embedding vs referencing, the bucket, outlier and subset patterns, and how access patterns drive design. You also use multi-document transactions, change streams, and a MongoDB driver in a small application, and get an overview of Atlas Search and vector search.
The MongoDB Associate Developer exam is an optional external credential taken directly with MongoDB. The course covers its topic areas, but you should review MongoDB University's current exam guide before booking.

Q.Which language do we code in?
Queries are run in mongosh (JavaScript syntax). The application module uses Node.js or Python depending on the batch.
Q.Is MongoDB better than SQL databases?
Neither is better in all cases. MongoDB suits flexible, document-shaped data and fast iteration; relational databases suit highly relational, transaction-heavy data. We discuss how to choose.
Q.Do I need the MERN stack?
No. The course is about MongoDB itself. If you know Node.js, the sample app will feel familiar.

Q.Does this cover administration?
