About the course
What this course covers
This short programme is built around Exam DP-700: Implementing Data Engineering Solutions Using Microsoft Fabric, the exam for the Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate credential. In 8 live hours, it walks through each skill area, shows the Fabric features involved, and works through representative scenarios so that you know what to practise.
The exam has three equally weighted areas: implement and manage an analytics solution, ingest and transform data, and monitor and optimise an analytics solution. Topics include workspace and OneLake settings, version control and deployment pipelines, workspace and item-level security, dynamic data masking, orchestration with pipelines and notebooks, full and incremental loads, batch transformation using PySpark, SQL and KQL, streaming with Eventstream and Spark Structured Streaming, and troubleshooting and performance tuning across Fabric items. Microsoft states that the English version of the certification was updated on 19 October 2026, with minor changes to workspace settings and performance optimisation objectives, and the course follows the updated list.
Please be realistic about scope: 8 hours is a guided exam-preparation intensive, not a full data engineering course. It assumes you already have experience with SQL and Python or PySpark and some familiarity with data warehousing concepts. Plan substantial hands-on practice in a Fabric trial or capacity before you sit the exam. The Assure Success certificate marks course completion only; the Microsoft credential is earned by passing the exam.
Who should attend

FAQs
Questions learners ask us
Q.Can I pass DP-700 with only 8 hours of training?
Only if you already have solid SQL, PySpark and data engineering experience and practise on Fabric yourself. For others this course is a structured review, not a full learning path.
Q.Is the exam fee included?
No. You pay Microsoft separately when you schedule the exam.
Q.The exam changed on 19 October 2026. Does the course reflect that?
Yes. Microsoft's study guide shows minor changes to the workspace settings and performance optimisation objectives, and the course follows the updated list. Always re-check the official study guide before your exam date.
Q.Do I need a Fabric licence?
Fabric features require a trial or paid capacity. The coordinator will explain the available options for your batch.
Q.I only know Power BI. Should I take this?
DP-700 is a data engineering exam that expects SQL, PySpark and KQL skills. Build those foundations first, for example with SQL for Data Analytics and the Data Engineer Bootcamp.
Q.How is DP-700 different from PL-300?
PL-300 is for Power BI data analysts who model and visualise data. DP-700 is for data engineers who ingest, transform, secure and optimise data in Fabric.
