About the course
What this course covers
The MEAN stack combines MongoDB, Express, Angular and Node.js, so you can build a complete web application in JavaScript and TypeScript from database to browser. It is a common stack in enterprise teams that favour Angular's structure for the front end. This course takes you from the basics of each part to a connected, secured and deployed application.
You begin with TypeScript and Node.js, build REST APIs with Express and MongoDB, and then develop the Angular front end with components, services, routing, forms and RxJS. The two halves meet through authentication with JWT, error handling, file uploads and API integration. Testing, Docker packaging and deployment are included so the project is production-style, not only a demo.
The MEAN stack has no external vendor exam. The capstone application is your proof of skill, and you receive an Assure Success course-completion certificate on completion.
Who should attend
- ● Graduates targeting full-stack JavaScript roles
- ● Front-end developers who want to learn back-end development
- ● Back-end developers who need Angular skills
- ● Developers moving from Java or .NET into JavaScript stacks
- ● Teams building internal tools with Angular front ends
Prerequisites
- ● Working knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript (ES6 features)
- Basic understanding of HTTP and databases is helpful
Key skills
Skills you will walk away with
TypeScript
Use types, interfaces and generics across both the Angular and Node.js code.
Node.js and Express
Build REST APIs with routing, middleware and centralised error handling.
MongoDB and Mongoose
Model documents, create indexes and write aggregation queries.
Angular front end
Create standalone components, signals-based state, services and routes.
Forms and RxJS
Build reactive forms and handle async streams with RxJS operators.
Authentication and security
Implement JWT login, route guards, interceptors and API protection.

FAQs
Questions learners ask us
Q.What is the difference between MEAN and MERN?
MEAN uses Angular for the front end and MERN uses React. The back end is the same: MongoDB, Express and Node.js. Pick based on the front-end framework your target employers use.
Q.Is 48 hours enough for the whole stack?
It covers each layer at a practical level and builds one application. Depth comes from practice. For more breadth, see the full-stack bootcamp.
Q.Do I need to know TypeScript?
No, it is taught in the first module, but you need basic JavaScript.
Q.Is there a certification exam?
No. You receive a course-completion certificate and a capstone project.
Q.Which Angular version is taught?
The current stable Angular release at the time of your batch, using standalone components and signals.
Q.Will I learn SQL databases too?
The focus is MongoDB. The Back-End Developer Bootcamp covers PostgreSQL in depth.
Q.Is MEAN still used in 2026?
Yes, particularly in enterprises that use Angular. The skills carry over to Node.js and other JavaScript stacks.
