About the course
What this course covers
Most servers, cloud workloads, containers and many developer machines run Linux. This short course gives you the command-line fundamentals that every developer, tester, DevOps engineer and system administrator is expected to know.
You will practise in a real Linux shell: moving around the file system, searching and filtering text, managing users and permissions, installing software, watching processes and writing simple shell scripts. We focus on concepts that work across distributions and note where Debian/Ubuntu and RHEL-family commands differ.
The course introduces the vocabulary and skills behind entry-level Linux certifications, but no exam is included. It is a good first step before cloud, DevOps or Linux administration courses.

FAQs
Questions learners ask us
Q.Which Linux distribution is used?
Mostly Ubuntu, with notes on RHEL-family differences such as dnf and AlmaLinux / Rocky Linux.
Q.Can I do this on Windows?
Yes. We use WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux), a virtual machine or a cloud shell, and help you set it up.
Q.Is this the same as the LPI Linux Essentials exam?
It covers similar fundamentals but is not an exam-prep course for any specific vendor exam. Check the Linux Professional Institute's official site for current exam details if you want a certification.
Q.Is it too basic for developers?
If you already use the shell daily, parts will be familiar, but most developers find gaps in permissions, processes and scripting.
Q.How long is the course?
8 hours of live online instructor-led training in scheduled batches.
Q.What should I learn next?
Bash scripting in depth, Linux system administration, Docker or a cloud platform, depending on your goal.
