About the course
What this course covers
The Yellow Belt is the entry level of Lean Six Sigma. It gives team members the vocabulary and basic tools to take part in improvement projects led by Green or Black Belts, and to solve smaller problems in their own area.
This one-day style course introduces the idea of process variation and waste, and walks through DMAIC: Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control. You learn how to describe a process with a SIPOC and process map, how to collect simple data, how to use Pareto charts and cause-and-effect diagrams to find causes, and how to think about solutions and ways of sustaining gains. The examples come from services, IT, manufacturing and administration.
There is no external exam for this course; learners receive an Assure Success completion certificate. Yellow Belt ideas are a good base before a Green Belt course.
