About the course
What this course covers
A Jira Kanban board only becomes Kanban when it limits work in progress, reflects the real workflow and is used to improve flow. This 16-hour course shows how to set up and use Jira for that purpose.
You begin with the Kanban Method: visualise work, limit work in progress, manage flow, make policies explicit, build feedback loops and improve collaboratively. In Jira you then create a Kanban project, map the real workflow to columns and statuses, set column constraints, use swimlanes and quick filters, and handle expedited or blocked items. You learn to read the cumulative flow diagram and control chart, calculate lead time and cycle time, find bottlenecks and run a service delivery review from Jira data. The course also covers backlog handling on a Kanban board, JQL filters and dashboards.
You work in a training Jira site. The course teaches skills only; it is not an Atlassian certification course and has no exam. You receive a completion certificate from the training provider.

FAQs
Questions learners ask us
Q.Is there an exam?
No. It is a skills course with a completion certificate from the training provider. It is not an Atlassian certification.
Q.Do I need to know Kanban?
No. The course starts with the method and then applies it in Jira.
Q.Do I need a paid Jira plan?
No. A training site is used in class.
Q.Can Jira Kanban boards enforce WIP limits?
Jira highlights when column constraints are exceeded but does not strictly block work. The course shows how to use that signal with team agreements.
Q.How is this different from Agile Scrum with Jira?
This course covers flow-based Kanban practice, WIP limits and flow metrics. The Scrum course covers sprints, backlogs and velocity.
Q.Is this useful for non-IT teams?
Yes. HR, marketing and operations teams use Jira Kanban boards too, and the method works the same way.
