About the course
What this course covers
Kanban Management Professional (KMP) is Kanban University's designation for practitioners who can design, run and improve Kanban systems. Kanban University lists the KMP requirement as completing Kanban System Design (KSD) plus Kanban Systems Improvement (KSI). In older materials these were called KMP I and KMP II, and this course bundles both over 32 hours of live online training.
The first half focuses on the Kanban Method's foundations and on using STATIK, the Systems Thinking Approach to Introducing Kanban, to understand customer needs, model workflow, set explicit policies, choose work-in-progress limits and design the board and cadences. The second half moves to evolving and scaling systems: managing flow with metrics such as lead time, throughput and flow efficiency, using cumulative flow and aging data, probabilistic forecasting, classes of service, risk management and improving across connected services.
Kanban University states that no exam is required for KSD, KSI or KMP; the credential comes from completing the classes with an accredited trainer. Check the current terms on kanban.university before you enrol.
