About the course
What this course covers
JavaScript is the language of the browser and one of the most used languages on the server. This course teaches it properly: not just syntax, but how the language actually behaves, such as scope and closures, the prototype chain, the value of this, the event loop and the module system. Understanding these makes frameworks like React, Angular or Vue far easier later.
You work with the modern language as defined by recent ECMAScript editions: let and const, arrow functions, destructuring, spread, template literals, optional chaining and nullish coalescing, Array and Object helpers such as flatMap, structuredClone, Object.groupBy and toSorted, private class fields, and ES modules. Asynchronous code gets a full module covering promises, async/await, fetch and handling errors.
There is no external vendor exam for JavaScript. The course ends with a browser-based project and code review. You receive an Assure Success course-completion certificate on completion.

Questions learners ask us
Q.I have never programmed. Is JavaScript a good first language?
Yes, it works well because you can see results immediately in a browser. The first modules assume no earlier programming experience.
Q.Does this course cover ES2025 or only ES6?
It covers modern JavaScript from ES2015 onwards, including recent additions that are widely supported in browsers and Node.js. Features still in proposal stage are not taught as production tools.
Q.Is JavaScript the same as Java?
No. They are different languages with different uses. The similar names are a historical accident.
Q.Is there a JavaScript certification exam?
There is no single official exam. Some third-party bodies offer certificates, but employers usually test you through coding tasks and interviews.
Q.Do I learn React or Node.js in this course?
No. This course focuses on the language itself. React, Angular, Vue and Node.js have their own courses that build on it.
Q.Do I need TypeScript?
You get a short introduction at the end. The separate TypeScript course covers it in depth.
