About the course
What this course covers
Many banks, insurers, telecom operators and government systems in India still run on Java EE applications built over the last two decades. J2EE is now called Jakarta EE, and the skills behind it (servlets, JSP, JDBC, JPA, EJB concepts, web services, messaging) are still needed to maintain and modernise those systems. This course teaches those foundations and shows how they connect to modern Java practice.
You begin with the servlet and JSP web layer and JDBC, then move to JPA and enterprise design patterns. The service-oriented architecture section explains SOA principles, service contracts, SOAP and WSDL web services with JAX-WS, RESTful services with JAX-RS (Jakarta REST), and asynchronous messaging with JMS. You deploy on a Jakarta EE-compatible server such as WildFly or Payara, and see how the same ideas appear in Spring Boot and microservices.
There is no mandatory vendor exam for this course. Oracle's Java SE certification is a separate optional credential; see the official Oracle site for current details. You receive an Assure Success course-completion certificate on completion.

FAQs
Questions learners ask us
Q.Is J2EE still relevant in 2026?
The name has changed to Jakarta EE, and many new projects use Spring Boot. But a large number of existing enterprise systems still run on Java EE technologies, and the underlying concepts remain important.
Q.Should I learn this or Spring Boot first?
If you are targeting new development roles, Spring Boot is the better first choice. Take this course if your target employers have Java EE or SOA systems, or if you want to understand the background.
Q.Do I need to know core Java?
Yes. You need working knowledge of OOP, collections and exceptions before starting.
Q.Is there a certification exam?
No exam is attached to this course. Oracle's Java certifications are separate; see the official Oracle site for current exams and fees.
Q.Why SOAP in 2026?
Many banking, insurance and government integrations still use SOAP and WSDL. You will see REST as well and learn when to use each.
Q.Do you teach EJB in detail?
EJB concepts such as session beans and transactions are covered at a practical level, with more emphasis on CDI and JPA, which are used in current Jakarta EE.
