About the course
What this course covers
ISO 14001 is the international standard for environmental management systems (EMS). It helps organisations reduce environmental impact, meet legal obligations and demonstrate responsible operations to customers, regulators and investors. Many Indian manufacturers, exporters and service companies are expected to hold or follow ISO 14001 in their supply chains.
This 16-hour course explains the structure and requirements of ISO 14001:2015, using the high-level structure shared by other management system standards, and covers the climate-change amendment published in 2024. You will learn how to define the context and scope, identify environmental aspects and impacts, determine compliance obligations, set objectives, assign responsibilities, control operations, prepare for emergencies, monitor performance and run internal audits and management reviews.
The course is practical: you draw up an aspects and impacts register, prepare a simple environmental policy and objectives, and plan an internal audit. It does not lead to an external exam; it gives you the knowledge to build or support an EMS and prepares you for further auditor training offered by recognised certification and registration bodies.
