About the course
What this course covers
The Internet of Things connects physical devices to software, from smart meters to factory sensors. This course takes you through a full IoT stack: choosing sensors, programming a microcontroller, sending data over MQTT, storing it in the cloud and showing it on dashboards with alerts.
You will work with ESP32 or Arduino-class boards, learn basic electronics you need for reliable circuits, and publish telemetry to a cloud service. Where learners do not own hardware, exercises can be completed in an online simulator such as Wokwi. The later modules cover Raspberry Pi as an edge gateway, device management, security and designing a project for real-world constraints like power and connectivity.
No external exam is attached. You finish with an end-to-end IoT project that you can demonstrate.
Who should attend
- ● Electronics, electrical and computer engineering students
- ● Software developers curious about hardware and embedded systems
- ● Hobbyists and makers who want a structured path
- ● Industrial automation and maintenance professionals
- ● Startup founders building connected products
Prerequisites
- ● Basic programming knowledge in any language; C/C++ or Python is helpful
- Basic electronics concepts (voltage, current, resistors) are helpful, but we revise them

FAQs
Questions learners ask us
Q.Do I need to buy hardware?
Hardware is optional. The core exercises can be done in an online simulator, but a low-cost ESP32 or Arduino kit gives a better experience.
Q.Do I need electronics knowledge?
No. We revise basic electronics in Module 2.
Q.Which programming languages are used?
C/C++ (Arduino framework) for devices and Python for the edge gateway, with simple dashboards built using tools like Node-RED.
Q.Which cloud platform is used?
We use MQTT, which works with any broker, and show examples with major cloud IoT services. The concepts apply to all of them.
Q.Is there an exam?
No external exam. You receive an Assure Success course completion certificate.
Q.How long is the course?
It is delivered as live online instructor-led sessions in scheduled batches. The schedule is shared when you enrol.
