About the course
What this course covers
Introduction to Data Science is designed for people who are curious about data careers but have not yet decided where to start. In 24 hours you get an overview of the field, a working feel for the core tools and enough hands-on practice to know whether you enjoy this kind of work.
You learn how a data science project flows from a business question to data, analysis, modelling and communication. You try Python in notebooks, query a small database with SQL, make charts, calculate basic statistics and train a simple prediction model. The course also explains the difference between data analyst, data scientist, data engineer and AI engineer roles, and what each typically requires, so you can plan your next step.
This is an introductory course with no external exam. You complete a short project and receive an Assure Success course-completion certificate.

FAQs
Questions learners ask us
Q.Can I get a data science job after only this course?
Realistically no. It is an introduction. Most roles also need deeper Python, SQL, statistics and a project portfolio, which longer courses build.
Q.Is coding mandatory for data science?
For data scientist roles, yes, mainly Python and SQL. For some analyst roles, Excel, SQL and a BI tool are the main skills. This course shows you both sides.
Q.I am weak in maths. Should I worry?
Not at this stage. The course uses simple examples. Later courses explain the maths in more depth when needed.
Q.Which course should I take after this?
For analyst roles: SQL for Data Analytics plus Power BI or Tableau. For data scientist roles: Python for Data Science, then Data Science with Python or Machine Learning with Python.
Q.Is there an exam?
No. You get an Assure Success course-completion certificate on finishing the course and mini-project.
Q.What laptop do I need?
Any laptop that runs a modern browser works, since we use Google Colab.
Is the pace slow for someone who already knows Python?
