About the course
What this course covers
Almost every software, data and DevOps team uses Git for version control, and GitHub is the most widely used place to host and review code. This focused course teaches the commands and the workflows you will actually use at work, not just the basics of add, commit and push.
In short, hands-on sessions you create repositories, work with branches, merge and rebase, resolve conflicts and recover from common mistakes. Then you practise the team side: forking, pull requests, reviews, protected branches, issues and a simple GitHub Actions workflow that runs on every push.
There is no exam attached to this course; the outcome is day-to-day fluency with Git and GitHub.

FAQs
Questions learners ask us
Q.Is Git the same as GitHub?
No. Git is the version control tool on your computer. GitHub is an online service that hosts Git repositories and adds pull requests, issues and automation. We cover both.
Q.Do I need to know coding?
No. We use small text files, though developers will find the examples more natural.
Q.Will we use the command line or a GUI?
Mainly the command line so you understand what is happening, and we show GitHub Desktop and VS Code integration.
Q.Does this cover GitLab or Bitbucket?
The Git concepts are identical. The hosting and automation parts focus on GitHub, but pull request ideas map directly to GitLab merge requests.
Q.Is there an exam?
No exam is attached to this course. You receive an Assure Success course completion certificate.
Q.How long is the course?
8 hours of live online instructor-led training in scheduled batches.
