Generative AI for Project Managers

Generative AI assistants can draft documents, summarise meetings, brainstorm risks and analyse data in seconds. Used carelessly they also invent facts, leak confidential information and produce generic output. This course teaches project managers how to use these tools productively and responsibly.

You start with how large language models work and where they fail. You then learn practical prompting: giving context, specifying format, iterating and asking for reasoning. Across the course you apply these skills to common project tasks: drafting a charter and scope statement, generating a work breakdown structure, brainstorming and categorising risks, writing status reports, summarising long threads and minutes, preparing stakeholder communications, and analysing a backlog or plan for gaps.

A large share of the course covers judgement: how to verify AI output, what data must never be pasted into a public tool, and how to follow your organisation's policy. PMI's 2026 PMP outline also references artificial intelligence as a trend that affects professional practice, so familiarity with these tools is increasingly relevant. There is no external exam; learners receive an Assure Success completion certificate.
