About the course
What this course covers
The Entry Certificate in Business Analysis (ECBA) from the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) is the starting point on IIBA's certification path. It shows that you know the vocabulary and structure of business analysis as defined in the BABOK Guide, even though you may not yet have the work experience required for CCBA or CBAP.
Business analysts help organisations understand problems, gather and clarify requirements, analyse options, and ensure that delivered solutions create value. This course introduces those ideas through the BABOK knowledge areas: planning and monitoring, elicitation and collaboration, requirements life cycle management, strategy analysis, requirements analysis and design definition, and solution evaluation. You also learn common techniques such as interviews, user stories, process maps and prioritisation.
As IIBA describes it, the ECBA is a first step for aspiring business analysis professionals. Sources report that it has no experience requirement and that the ECBA does not expire, but please confirm the current eligibility, exam length and fees on iiba.org when you register.
