About the course
What this course covers
The Docker Certified Associate (DCA) exam validates practical Docker skills: running containers, building and distributing images, configuring networks and storage, securing the environment and orchestrating services. The DCA programme moved with Docker's enterprise business to Mirantis, which administers the exam today.
The course follows the six areas of the exam blueprint: orchestration, image creation, management and registry, installation and configuration, networking, security, and storage and volumes. You install and configure Docker Engine, write efficient Dockerfiles and multi-stage builds, run and inspect containers, publish images to registries, build overlay networks, manage persistent data with volumes and drivers, use Docker secrets and content trust, and orchestrate services with Docker Swarm. You also see how Kubernetes orchestration fits into the picture, as the exam includes basic Kubernetes concepts.
The exam is booked and taken by you directly with Mirantis. Delivery of the course is live, instructor-led and online.
Who should attend
- ● DevOps engineers and system administrators who run containers
- ● Developers who build and ship containerised applications
- ● Cloud engineers moving to container platforms
- ● QA and release engineers using Docker in pipelines
- ● Learners preparing for Kubernetes who want a Docker credential first
Prerequisites
- No formal prerequisites for the exam

FAQs
Questions learners ask us
Q.Is the Docker Certified Associate exam still available?
Yes, it is run by Mirantis, which took over the programme with Docker's enterprise business. Please confirm current availability and price on the Mirantis site before booking.
Q.How many questions are in the exam?
Mirantis certificate pages list 55 questions in 90 minutes, a mix of multiple choice and discrete-option multiple choice.
Q.What is the passing score and fee?
We could not verify these from an official source for this page, so please check the Mirantis site. Some third-party sites report a figure around 65% and a fee near USD 199, but treat that as unconfirmed.
Q.Does it include Kubernetes?
The exam blueprint includes basic Kubernetes orchestration topics. For deeper Kubernetes, see our CKA course.
Q.Is Docker Swarm still relevant?
Swarm is much less used than Kubernetes in industry, but it remains part of the DCA blueprint and a good way to learn orchestration concepts.
Q.Can I do this as a fresher?
Yes, if you are comfortable with Linux. Hands-on practice before the exam is important.
