About the course
What this course covers
DevOps Foundation is a widely used entry-level DevOps certification. It tests whether you understand the vocabulary, principles and practices that let development and operations teams deliver software faster and more safely. The program was created by the DevOps Institute, which is now part of PeopleCert, and exams are delivered through PeopleCert.
The course covers the key terms and ideas: why DevOps exists, the Three Ways (flow, feedback, continual learning), CALMS (culture, automation, lean, measurement, sharing), value stream mapping, continuous integration and delivery, infrastructure as code, DevSecOps, site reliability engineering, ChatOps, knowledge sharing and the metrics used to measure improvement. You work through case studies and exercises, and finish with exam practice.
This is a conceptual course, not a tool lab course. The exam is booked and taken by you directly with PeopleCert; Assure Success does not issue the certificate. Delivery of the training is live, instructor-led and online.

Q.Is DevOps Foundation technical?
It is conceptual. You need to understand ideas and practices, not run tools. That makes it suitable for managers and non-engineers.
Q.How many questions are in the exam?
Training providers and PeopleCert-linked sources describe 40 multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes with a 65% pass mark. Please confirm on the PeopleCert site when booking.
Q.Is the exam open-book?
Providers describe it as open-book with course materials, but rules can change. Confirm the current rules with PeopleCert.
Q.Does Assure Success issue the certificate?
No. The certificate is issued by the examination body after you pass. We provide the training.
Q.Is this better than a tools course?
They serve different needs. Foundation gives concepts and vocabulary; tools courses give hands-on skill. Many learners do both.
Q.Will it help me get a DevOps engineer job?
It helps with understanding and interviews, but engineering roles also need tool skills such as Git, CI/CD, containers and cloud. No job is guaranteed.
