About the course
What this course covers
Strong problem-solving skills are the main filter in product-company and many service-company interviews. This course teaches the core data structures and algorithms in Java, not as theory alone but as a toolkit of patterns you learn to recognise and apply under time pressure.
Each topic follows the same routine: understand the structure, implement it from scratch, then use the Java Collections equivalent. You solve a graded set of problems from easy to hard, and learn to explain time and space complexity clearly, which interviewers often care about as much as the code.
There is no external exam. The goal is practical interview and job readiness: efficient solutions, clean Java and a method for approaching unseen problems.
Who should attend
- ● Final-year students and graduates preparing for campus and off-campus placements
- ● Working developers preparing to switch to product companies
- ● Java programmers who want to write more efficient code
- ● Self-taught programmers filling gaps in computer science fundamentals
- ● Competitive-programming beginners who want a structured path
Prerequisites
- ● Working knowledge of Java: classes, methods, arrays, loops
- Familiarity with basic recursion is helpful
Key skills
Skills you will walk away with
Complexity analysis
Estimate and compare time and space complexity with Big-O notation.
Linear data structures
Implement and use arrays, linked lists, stacks and queues.
Hashing
Solve lookup and counting problems with HashMap and HashSet and understand collisions.
Trees and heaps
Work with binary trees, BSTs, heaps and priority queues.
Graph algorithms
Apply BFS, DFS, shortest path and topological sort to real problems.
Recursion and backtracking
Break problems into subproblems and explore solution spaces systematically.

FAQs
Questions learners ask us
Q.How much Java do I need to know?
You should be able to write classes, methods, loops and work with arrays. Our Java Programming course covers this if you need a base.
Q.Can I use another language in the problems?
The teaching is in Java and the trainer reviews Java solutions. The patterns apply to other languages, but feedback will be given on Java.
Q.Will this guarantee a job in a product company?
No. It prepares you for the DSA part of interviews. Outcomes depend on your practice, projects and interview performance, and we make no placement promises.
Q.Do I need strong maths?
No. Basic school-level maths is enough. We explain logarithms and recurrence relations as they come up.
Q.How many problems will I practise?
Each module comes with a graded problem set. The more you solve outside class the better; the trainer will suggest how to plan your practice.
Q.Is there an exam or certification?
No external exam. You receive an Assure Success course completion certificate.
