About the course
What this course covers
Data Science with R is built for people whose work leans on statistics: researchers, analysts in pharma, healthcare, finance, market research and academia, and anyone who wants rigorous modelling rather than just quick scripts. R was designed for data analysis, and its ecosystem for statistics and visualisation is still among the strongest available.
The course starts with R syntax and the tidyverse for importing, cleaning and reshaping data, then moves into exploratory analysis with ggplot2, classical statistics, linear and generalised linear models, and machine learning with tidymodels. You also learn to make your work reproducible with R Markdown or Quarto and to share results as an interactive Shiny app.
There is no external vendor exam for this programme. You finish with a capstone analysis and receive an Assure Success course-completion certificate. Because R is used alongside Python in many teams, we also show where each language fits so you can talk about the trade-offs in interviews.
Who should attend
- ● Statisticians, economists and researchers who want a modern R workflow
- ● Analysts in pharma, clinical research, BFSI and market research who handle survey or trial data
- ● Graduates in statistics, mathematics, economics or life sciences entering analytics
- ● Excel or SPSS/SAS users who want a free, scriptable alternative
- ● Data science learners who want R as a second language next to Python
Key skills
Skills you will walk away with
R programming fundamentals
Use vectors, data frames, lists, functions and control flow confidently in RStudio.
Tidyverse data wrangling
Clean and reshape data using dplyr, tidyr, stringr and lubridate pipelines.
Visualisation with ggplot2
Build layered, publication-quality charts and apply a consistent theme.
Statistical inference
Run and interpret t-tests, chi-square tests, ANOVA and non-parametric alternatives.
Regression modelling
Fit and diagnose linear and logistic regression and read coefficients correctly.
Machine learning with tidymodels
Train, tune and compare models with resampling and recipes for preprocessing.

FAQs
Questions learners ask us
Q.Should I learn R or Python first?
If your work is statistics, research, clinical or survey analysis, R is a very good first language. If you aim for software-style machine learning or deployment, Python is more common. Learning one makes the other easier.
Q.Is R still used in Indian companies?
Yes, particularly in pharma and clinical research, healthcare analytics, BFSI risk teams, market research and academia. Python has more job listings overall, so many teams use both.
Q.I have never coded. Is this too hard?
No. The first module teaches R from scratch, and the tidyverse style reads close to plain English. Regular practice matters more than prior experience.
Q.Is there an external certification exam?
No. This course ends with a capstone and an Assure Success course-completion certificate; it is not a vendor or government exam.
Q.Do I need to buy any software?
No. R, RStudio and the packages used are free and open source.
Q.Will we cover deep learning?
Not in depth. The focus is statistics, classical machine learning and reporting. Deep learning is covered in separate courses.
