About the course
What this course covers
CompTIA Server+ is a vendor-neutral certification for IT professionals who deploy and maintain servers in data centres, on-premises rooms and hybrid environments. Where A+ focuses on end-user devices, Server+ covers enterprise-class hardware, storage, virtualisation and server operating systems, and the processes needed to keep services available.
The SK0-005 exam covers Server Hardware Installation and Management, Server Administration, Security and Disaster Recovery, and Troubleshooting. In this course you will learn how to install and configure rack servers and blade systems, work with RAID and storage networks, deploy and manage Windows and Linux server roles, set up virtual machines, apply patching and monitoring, implement access controls and encryption, plan backups and disaster recovery, and troubleshoot problems methodically.
The course suits system administrators and support engineers who want a recognised infrastructure credential. SK0-005 is the current version listed by CompTIA, which has not announced a successor on the pages we checked. Please confirm on comptia.org before you book.

FAQs
Questions learners ask us
Q.Do I need A+ before Server+?
It is not required but CompTIA recommends A+ or equivalent knowledge. Server+ assumes you understand PC hardware and operating systems.
Q.Is the exam tied to Windows or Linux?
No. It is vendor-neutral and covers concepts and tasks common to both.
Q.How many questions and what pass mark?
Up to 90 questions in 90 minutes, with 750 required on a 100–900 scale.
Q.Is Server+ still relevant with the cloud?
Yes. Most organisations still run physical and virtual servers, and the skills carry over to cloud virtual machines.
Q.How do I book the exam in India?
Buy a voucher from CompTIA and schedule through Pearson VUE at a test centre or online.
Q.Should I check for a newer version?
Yes. SK0-005 launched in 2021, so check comptia.org for any announcement of a successor or retirement date before booking.
