About the course
What this course covers
The Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) from ISACA is the benchmark credential for professionals who audit, control, monitor and assess an organisation's information technology and business systems. It is widely requested by audit firms, banks and large enterprises that need assurance over their IT environment.
This 40-hour live online course teaches the five CISA domains: the information systems auditing process, governance and management of IT, acquisition, development and implementation, operations and business resilience, and protection of information assets. Each domain moves from concept to audit practice, so you learn what auditors test, what evidence they look for and how they report findings.
Because the CISA exam asks scenario questions from an auditor's point of view, a good part of the course is practice: reading a situation, identifying the risk, and choosing the response an IS auditor would recommend. You also receive a clear plan for the experience application, which can be submitted after you pass.

Yes, anyone can take the exam. You receive the certification only after documenting the required experience, which you can do within five years of passing.
Q.Which experience waivers apply?
ISACA allows up to three years of waiver for specified degrees and certifications. The exact list is on isaca.org and we help you map your background during the course.
Q.Do I need an IT background if I am a chartered accountant?
No. The course starts from audit fundamentals and builds IT knowledge, though some technical reading helps in the operations and security domains.
Q.How is the exam scored?
ISACA reports scores on a 200–800 scale, and 450 is required to pass. There is no penalty for wrong answers, so answer every question.
Q.How do I book the exam?
Register on isaca.org, pay in US dollars and schedule through PSI at a test centre or with remote proctoring.
Q.How is CISA different from CISM?
CISA focuses on auditing and assurance, while CISM focuses on managing a security programme. They pair well for risk and governance careers.
