About the course
What this course covers
The Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) exam from the Linux Foundation and the Cloud Native Computing Foundation is a practical, performance-based test. Instead of multiple-choice questions you receive a set of tasks and solve them on live clusters from the command line within two hours. That is why preparation must be hands-on.
The CKA curriculum has five domains: Troubleshooting (30%); Cluster Architecture, Installation and Configuration (25%); Services and Networking (20%); Workloads and Scheduling (15%); and Storage (10%). This course follows them. You build clusters with kubeadm, back up and restore etcd, upgrade a cluster, configure RBAC, run workloads with Deployments and scheduling controls, expose them with Services, Ingress and Gateway API, set network policies, work with persistent storage and troubleshoot broken nodes, control-plane components and applications. Timed drills train you to be fast and accurate.
The exam is booked and taken by you directly with the Linux Foundation. The version of Kubernetes tested changes over time; the Linux Foundation page currently lists v1.37. Delivery of the course is live, instructor-led and online.
Who should attend
- ● System administrators and DevOps engineers who will run Kubernetes clusters
- ● Cloud engineers who deploy applications on Kubernetes
- ● Site reliability engineers and platform engineers
- ● Developers who want deeper operational knowledge
- ● Engineers who already know Docker and Linux and want a recognised Kubernetes credential
Key skills
Skills you will walk away with
Cluster installation
Bootstrap and configure clusters with kubeadm, including high-availability control plane concepts.
