About the course
What this course covers
Designing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions (exam AZ-305) is the exam for the Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification. It tests whether you can translate business requirements into Azure designs that align with the Azure Well-Architected Framework and the Cloud Adoption Framework. You do not build everything yourself; you choose and justify the right services.
Microsoft lists four skill areas with weightings: design identity, governance and monitoring solutions (25-30%); design data storage solutions (20-25%); design business continuity solutions (15-20%); and design infrastructure solutions (30-35%). Microsoft updated the English-language exam on 17 April 2026, and our course follows that outline. Each module is built on short case studies: for example, choosing between Azure SQL options, designing a hub-and-spoke network for a regulated company, or planning disaster recovery with defined recovery objectives.
To earn the Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification, Microsoft requires the Azure Administrator Associate certification (AZ-104) as well as passing AZ-305. The course prepares you for the exam; you book it yourself with Microsoft through Pearson VUE. Delivery is live, instructor-led and online.

FAQs
Questions learners ask us
Q.Do I need AZ-104 before AZ-305?
You can take the AZ-305 exam without it, but Microsoft requires the Azure Administrator Associate certification to earn the Azure Solutions Architect Expert credential. Most learners do AZ-104 first.
Q.Is AZ-305 more about hands-on or theory?
It is design-focused with scenario and case-study questions. Hands-on familiarity helps you judge trade-offs, but you are not building labs in the exam.
Q.Was the exam updated recently?
Yes. Microsoft updated the English version on 17 April 2026, and our course follows the updated skills outline. Always read the latest study guide on Microsoft Learn before your exam.
Q.What is the exam duration?
Microsoft shows the exam time when you schedule. Please check the official exam page for the current figure.
Q.How much does it cost?
Microsoft sets the price by country. The US price is listed at US$165; confirm the India price on Microsoft Learn.
Q.How long is the credential valid?
Twelve months, renewable free through an online assessment on Microsoft Learn.
Is it suitable for someone with only AWS experience?
