About the course
What this course covers
Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals is the entry-level AI certification in the Microsoft path. This course was originally built for the AI-900 exam. Microsoft has since moved the certification to a new exam, AI-901, and the AI-900 exam is being retired (Microsoft sources list 30 June 2026). The certification name, Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Fundamentals, stays the same.
We teach the AI-901 skills outline, which Microsoft updated on 15 April 2026. It has two parts: identify AI concepts and capabilities (40-45% of the exam) and implement AI solutions by using Microsoft Foundry (55-60%). You will learn what AI workloads are, the basics of machine learning, how computer vision and natural language processing work, what generative AI is, and responsible AI principles. You then practise using Microsoft Foundry to build simple solutions. Microsoft notes that candidates should have knowledge of Python syntax and programming techniques, so the course includes a gentle Python primer.
The course prepares you for the exam, which you book yourself with Microsoft via Pearson VUE. Delivery is live, instructor-led and online.
