About the course
What this course covers
AWS renamed its operations-focused Associate certification. The former AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate is now the AWS Certified CloudOps Engineer - Associate, and the current exam is SOA-C03. This course covers the day-to-day skills the exam measures: monitoring and logging, automated remediation, reliability and backups, deployment and provisioning with infrastructure as code, security and compliance, and networking.
You will learn to run a production AWS environment: setting up CloudWatch alarms and dashboards, responding to events with EventBridge and Lambda, patching with Systems Manager, restoring from backups, scaling Auto Scaling groups and diagnosing connectivity problems in a VPC. Each module uses labs that mimic real operational incidents.
The course is live and instructor-led in scheduled batches. It prepares you for the exam, which you book and take yourself with AWS. People who already hold the SysOps Administrator credential remain valid for three years from the date they earned it.

FAQs
Questions learners ask us
Q.Is the SysOps Administrator exam still available?
AWS now offers the CloudOps Engineer - Associate (SOA-C03) as the current exam. Existing SysOps Administrator holders keep their credential for three years from the date they earned it.
Q.What is the difference between this and Solutions Architect Associate?
Solutions Architect is about design decisions. This exam is about running, monitoring, automating and fixing AWS environments.
Q.Will I need to write code?
Only small scripts and CLI commands, plus YAML or JSON templates. You do not need to be a developer.
Q.Do I need prior AWS experience?
Some familiarity with EC2, S3, VPC and IAM helps. Complete beginners should consider Cloud Practitioner or AWS Technical Essentials first.
Q.How much does the exam cost?
AWS lists USD 150 plus applicable taxes, paid directly to AWS when you book.
Q.Can I use this training for a support or NOC role?
Yes. Monitoring, alarms, runbooks and incident troubleshooting are central topics in the course.
