Auditing & Assurance Training

Auditing and assurance give users confidence in financial information and processes. Whether you work for an audit firm, an internal audit department or a finance team, understanding how audits are planned, executed and reported makes you more effective and employable.

This course walks through the audit process in order. You will learn the objectives of an audit and professional scepticism, engagement acceptance and ethics, understanding the entity and assessing risks of material misstatement, setting materiality, designing and performing tests of controls and substantive procedures, using sampling and analytical procedures, obtaining and evaluating evidence, and concluding and reporting. Standards-based material follows the International Standards on Auditing (ISA), with references to the Standards on Auditing (SA) issued by ICAI for India.

Practical exercises include planning an audit for a sample company, designing procedures for revenue, inventory, payables and payroll, evaluating internal controls, handling fraud risk, reviewing going concern, and drafting audit reports with different opinion types. A short section introduces data analytics in audit and the basics of internal audit and other assurance engagements. There is no external exam; the course supports CA, ACCA and other professional pathways.
