About the course
What this course covers
ASP.NET is Microsoft's framework for web applications and APIs, widely used in enterprise software across India. This course focuses on ASP.NET Core, the current cross-platform version, and shows you how to build server-rendered pages, REST APIs and secure, database-backed applications.
You start with the request pipeline, middleware and dependency injection, then build with Razor Pages and controllers, connect to a database through Entity Framework Core, and add sign-in and role-based access. We also explain how classic ASP.NET Web Forms projects differ, since many companies still maintain them and plan migrations.
The course has no external exam. You finish with a working web application and the skills expected of a junior ASP.NET developer.

Q.Is this about ASP.NET Core or the old Web Forms?
The course is based on ASP.NET Core on current .NET, which is what new projects use. We explain Web Forms differences so you can work on legacy code and plan migrations.
Q.Do I need to know C# already?
Yes, a working knowledge of C# is expected. Our C# Training course covers the language if you need it.
Q.What is the difference between this course and ASP.NET MVC?
This course gives a broad view of ASP.NET Core including Razor Pages, APIs, security and deployment. The ASP.NET MVC course focuses specifically on the MVC pattern and Razor views in more depth.
Q.Do I need SQL Server?
We use SQL Server (the free LocalDB or Express edition) for the labs. SQLite can be used where hardware is limited.
Q.Is there a Microsoft exam?
There is no external exam attached to this course. Microsoft's current certification options are listed on Microsoft Learn.
