About the course
What this course covers
The MVC pattern separates a web application into models, views and controllers, which makes it easier to test and change. This course teaches that pattern using ASP.NET Core MVC and shows you how to organise real applications with controllers, Razor views, validation, filters and a clean data layer.
It is deeper on MVC than a general ASP.NET course: routing conventions, model binding, view models, areas, custom filters, tag helpers and partial/view components get proper attention. Many companies still run ASP.NET MVC 5 applications on .NET Framework, so we point out the differences and the migration path.
No external exam is involved. You finish with a complete MVC application and the ability to work on both new and existing MVC codebases.

Q.Is this ASP.NET Core MVC or MVC 5?
The main teaching is ASP.NET Core MVC, which is used for new work. We include a module on MVC 5 differences and migration because many companies still maintain older projects.
Q.How is this different from the ASP.NET course?
The ASP.NET course is broader (Razor Pages, APIs, deployment). This course goes deeper into the MVC pattern: routing, view models, filters, view components and structuring larger apps.
Q.Do I need front-end skills?
Basic HTML and CSS are needed. We use a little JavaScript for AJAX examples but do not teach a front-end framework.
Q.Do I need prior C# knowledge?
Yes. You should be comfortable with C# classes, interfaces and LINQ.
Q.Is there an exam?
No external exam. You receive an Assure Success course completion certificate.
