About the course
What this course covers
Android runs on the large majority of smartphones in India, which makes native Android development a steady career path. This course teaches modern Android: Kotlin as the language, Jetpack Compose for the user interface and Android Jetpack libraries for architecture, storage and background work.
You start with Kotlin and Android Studio, then build screens with Compose: layouts, state, lists, navigation and theming with Material 3. Next come architecture and data: ViewModel, StateFlow, Room for local storage, Retrofit or Ktor for network calls, Hilt for dependency injection and DataStore for preferences. You also work with permissions, notifications, WorkManager, images and maps, then learn testing, performance basics, app signing, App Bundles and publishing on Google Play, including its current target API level policy. A short module introduces Kotlin Multiplatform so you know where cross-platform options fit.
Google has retired its Associate Android Developer certification, so employers look at your apps and code instead. You complete a capstone app and receive an Assure Success course-completion certificate.

Questions learners ask us
Q.Do you teach Java or Kotlin for Android?
Kotlin, which is Google's recommended language for Android. Java knowledge helps you read older code.
Q.Does the course use XML layouts or Jetpack Compose?
Jetpack Compose is the main approach. XML views are explained briefly so you can maintain older apps.
Q.Is there an Android certification?
Google's Associate Android Developer exam has been retired, per Google's certification page. Employers assess your apps, code and interview performance.
Q.Do I need an Android phone?
It helps but is not required. The emulator in Android Studio is enough for most exercises.
Q.Will I be able to publish on Google Play?
You learn the release process and prepare a signed build. A Play Console developer account has a registration fee set by Google, and new personal accounts must follow Google's current testing requirements, so check Google's latest rules.
Q.What about iOS?
This course is Android only. Kotlin Multiplatform is introduced as a way to share code, but iOS development is a separate skill.
