About the course
What this course covers
Attackers are using AI to write convincing phishing, clone voices and speed up reconnaissance, while defenders face more alerts than any team can read. This course shows how AI helps on the defensive side and how to secure AI systems your organisation is starting to deploy.
You begin with the machine learning concepts a security practitioner actually needs: supervised and unsupervised learning, feature engineering from logs, model evaluation, and why false positives matter. You then apply them to detection tasks such as user and entity behaviour analytics, phishing and URL classification, malware triage and network anomaly detection. A major block covers large language models in security operations: using them to summarise alerts, enrich indicators, draft incident reports and assist hunts, while keeping humans in control and protecting sensitive data.
The final part flips the question and looks at attacks on AI itself, including prompt injection, jailbreaks, training-data poisoning, model theft and insecure agent tools, together with governance frameworks that organisations are adopting. Labs use accessible tools and notebooks, and a short Python familiarity is helpful but not essential.

FAQs
Questions learners ask us
Q.Do I need to know machine learning?
No. The course explains the necessary concepts from scratch and focuses on how they are applied to security problems.
Q.Will AI replace SOC analysts?
AI reduces routine work, but analysts are still needed to judge context, validate findings and make decisions. The course teaches you to work with AI, not be replaced by it.
Q.Is Python required?
Basic familiarity helps with the notebook labs, and we provide starter code. Non-programmers can follow the concepts and use pre-built examples.
Q.Is there an official exam?
No external exam is attached. You receive a course completion confirmation from Assure Success.
Q.Which tools are used?
We use accessible, widely available tools and notebooks to keep concepts transferable. The specific tool list is shared at the start of each batch.
Q.Is it safe to put company data into an AI chatbot?
Usually not without approval. The course covers data handling, enterprise AI controls and policy so you know what is safe to share.
