About the course
What this course covers
Jira Software is one of the most widely used tools for running Scrum. Many teams use it poorly, with over-complicated workflows, unclear backlogs and reports nobody trusts. This course shows how to configure and use Jira to support Scrum rather than get in its way.
You first review Scrum roles, events and artefacts so that the tool setup follows the framework. In Jira you then create a Scrum project, build a product backlog with epics and stories, refine and estimate, plan and run a sprint on a Scrum board, and close the sprint with a review. You learn to customise issue types, workflows and boards at a practical level, use JQL to find and filter issues, create dashboards, and read sprint and velocity reports correctly. The course also covers working with releases, versions and basic automation rules.
You work in a training Jira site during the course. The course teaches skills only; it is not an Atlassian certification course and has no exam. You receive a completion certificate from the training provider. Some admin options depend on your Jira plan and permissions.

FAQs
Questions learners ask us
Q.Is there an exam or Atlassian certification?
No. This course builds practical skills and gives a completion certificate from the training provider. Atlassian runs its own separate certifications, which are not part of this course.
Q.Do I need a paid Jira account?
No. A training site is used in class. Tell the counsellor if you want to set up a free Jira plan for practice.
Q.I do not know Scrum. Can I join?
Yes. The course revises Scrum first, though it helps to read the Scrum Guide beforehand.
Q.Does it cover Jira administration?
It covers project-level configuration. Deep site administration depends on plan and permissions and is not the main focus.
Q.Which Jira version is used?
Jira Software Cloud. Features may differ slightly in other editions.
Q.Is this useful for Kanban teams?
The tool skills overlap, but the Kanban with Jira course is a better fit for flow-based teams.
