About the course
What this course covers
Once you can analyse data in R, the next step is writing code that others can reuse and that runs fast enough on real data. This course covers how R actually evaluates code, the functional programming tools that make scripts shorter and safer, and the object systems that large packages rely on.
You will profile slow code, apply vectorisation and data.table, and extend R with C++ through Rcpp. A large part of the course is turning your scripts into a documented, tested R package, and automating analysis workflows so results are reproducible.
There is no external exam. The course suits people who already use R and want to move into package development, internal tooling or production analytics.

Questions learners ask us
Q.Do I need the R Programming course first?
You need equivalent knowledge: data frames, functions and basic tidyverse use. If you are unsure, check with the Assure Success team before enrolling.
Q.Do I need to know C++ for Rcpp?
No. We cover just enough C++ for simple, fast functions. Basic programming logic is enough.
Q.Will we publish to CRAN?
We build packages that pass R CMD check and explain the CRAN submission process, but publishing is optional and outside class time.
Q.Is there a certification exam?
No external exam. You receive an Assure Success course completion certificate.
Q.Is this useful for pharma / clinical roles?
The package development, testing and reproducibility skills are relevant to validated environments, but this is not a clinical-domain course.
Q.How long is the course?
